October 15, 2012 Rifle, Colo. – It with great pleasure that Grand River Hospital District welcomes Tami Griffith, CRNP to the Grand River Medical Clinic in Battlement Mesa. Griffith, a Family Nurse Practitioner began seeing patients in the Battlement Mesa Clinic this week. Ms. Griffith comes to Grand River from St. Mary’s Family Residency Clinic in Grand Junction where she served as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past two years. Prior to that, she practiced in Grand County at the Granby Medical Center. Ms. Griffith received her BSN from McNeese State University in Louisiana, and her Masters in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama in 2002.
Ms. Griffith is originally from Fairhope, Alabama, a town of about 8,000 people. When asked why she chose Grand River she says “Rural Health is what I love! Working in smaller communities, you have the opportunity to build strong connections with your patients and their families. That’s so much more difficult to do in larger areas and cities.” explains Griffith. Lois Kame, Administrative Director of Clinic Operations for Grand River Hospital District adds “We are looking forward to Ms. Griffith joining the Grand River provider team. Her commitment and passion for rural health and her experience in family health services make her a great fit for our clinic and community in the Parachute/ Battlement Mesa area”.
Tami and her husband, Jeff, currently live in Grand Junction. They plan to relocate to Mesa this summer. They both enjoy mountain biking, hiking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.
